My 5th Week Report

03/05/2010 - 07/05/2010

~ continued weighing the dotted film multi shrink & shrink film for tray...

~ helped Siti to compile the CILT sheets (Cleaning, Inspection, Lubrication,
Tigtening) in SLC room...

~ NEW TASK : I was suppose to work with Mr Andrew from AG (Application Group). [Our task is to check the efficiency taken to complete 1 batch of NF MILO. For that we have to find the average of 3 batches.]

Mr Yunus took Mr Andrew & me around the processing line to show us the actual process for NF product. After learning the processes, we took the time reading for 3 batches of MILO NF (18 000 litres).

~ I attended a meeting with Mr Jeffrey and some other staffs who were
involved in the GIANT project. This meeting was relevant to the task that
Mr Jeffrey gave me & Mr Andrew previously.

My 4th Week Report

26/04/2010 - 28/04/2010

~ managed to figure out the flow work for unplanned OT with the help of
Mr Badrul ( The Acting FLM) & Mr Mutalib

~ Mrs Marsiah Omar (Operator) explained to me the importance of electest
and how to perform it using the electester machine.
(Electest is known as the last process before the product can be released.
It is used to check the level of sourness, underweight, size of the
container whether bloated or not.)

~ Ms Carol (FLM) asked me to update the RTD Level 2 Master planning in the system

29/04/2010 - 30/04/2010

~ Mr Jeffrey asked Mr Soo from AG to teach me on measuring the Dotted film multi shrink & shrink film for tray for 125ml, 200ml, & 250ml product. I was told to take 10 readings for each products for 10 days continuously. By doing this, we can find the average actual usage and compare it with the target usage to find the difference in usage.

My 3rd Week Report

19/04/2010 -20/04/2010
~ Mr. Jeffrey & Mr. Calvin (FLM) tested me on the 3 tasks that was given to me the previous week.
~ Then Mr Jeffrey gave me a new task (4th task) which is related to the knowledge that i gained from those earlier tasks...
NEW TASK: Checking for errors on the recovery checklist from the month of October 2009 to the month of April 2010. Checking involves the batch codes, time taken from start to process, the pH of the product & organoleptic test results, tank no.

21/04/2010-22/04/2010
Another NEW TASK was given to me... but its a lil irrelevant =P
Which is to work on the procedure to request and deal with contract labour and contract cleaner. My job is to study on the actual procedure that they follow in RTD and compare with the existing SOP of the procedure to request contract labour and cleaner from the supplier. <ENTHAMIL Sdn Bhd>

Mr Jeffrey gave me another NEW TASK & it is similar to my previous task...
This time i have to study on the procedure to approve OT(overtime) for shift workers in RTD department. There are 2 types of OT:-
~ Planned OT
~ Unplanned OT

My 2nd Week-Report

My first day in Nestle:-
~ Report in under Ms.Jun (HR unit)
~ I received a pair of safety shoes from the Nestle Management
~ My first day in Nestle begun with induction for new staff conducted by
Mr.Haris Sajat... (on safety, general regulation & benefits)

Induction continued... (on clinical/medical, cleanliness, & nutrition training)
They also mentioned about the suitable attire when we are in the plant area.

(14/04/2010)
~ Last day of my orientation in Nestle. Mr Haris Sajat took me to my
department (RTD DEPARTMENT) whereby he introduced me to Ms Siti,
one of the staff in RTD office. [RTD-Ready To Drink]

~ Ms Ainor took me for a plant visit and she introduced me to the
operators, technician and the chargehand who was working on morning
and afternoon shift for that day.

~ Mr Jeffrey, my supervisor who is also the Production Manager in RTD department gave me 3 tasks:-
1) to findout the coding system for brick in RTD
2) to findout about RTD rework SOP(Standard Operation Procedure)
3) the procedure on how the product recovery beiing performed in RTD.
[I managed to complete my 1st & 2nd task on that day itself]

15/04/2010
~ the whole day, i was working on my 3rd task which was on the procedure
of product recovery being performed in RTD
~ Mr Badrul the acting FLM & Mr Hisham the chargehand helped me out
with this task. They took me around the process line and explained very
briefly on the recovery process. Usually recovery process is done for the
damaged briks during the production time. There are some pics that i
managed to take during the visit.

Went for a plant visit again with Mr Hisham to reconfirm the recovery process that i learned previously. But this time, instead of him briefing me, i did the explanantion to ensure that i fully understand the procedure. And i passed my test... =P

My 1st Week Report...

I had to attend one day training for intern by Career Xcell Sd. Bhd. on the 5th of April 2010 (Monday). Towards the end of this training session, i was given an Internship Agreement with Nestle by Ms. Norhana.

The training in Career Xcell was all about preparing students like me to face working life throughout the internship period. Some of the things that they stressed on during that training:-
